Last weekend we took Andrew to Sesame Place theme park in Pennsylvania for the second time. After seven hours at the park, here are some highlights:
We actually did a couple of rides with him this time. Here he is on the “Sunny Day Carousel.” He was not too sure about riding it. He held on tight during the whole ride!
Another ride we did was “Big Bird’s Big Balloons.” This was a more intense ride for him but he did pretty good with it. It was a good beginner’s ride.
We stumbled upon Cookie Monster while walking around the park and snapped a pic! The characters show up at random times during the day and you can usually spot them by the big crowds that gather around.
At 2 P.M. was the big Sesame Street character parade! We got a good seat and had an excellent view of everything. The theme of the parade is 50’s music with the characters dancing to the music.
As the day wore on, we were all starting to get tired and decided to exit. We stopped at the souvenir store before we left and picked up a shirt and a stuffed Elmo. He immediately took a liking to it!
Since we are season pass holders, we receive a little known perk that makes it all worthwhile. Before each parade, there is a small VIP area where season pass holders can privately meet with all of the characters! We found this area (it is not easy to find) and we were in character heaven! There were only 15 other people with us and all of the characters were there! We were able to have tons of quality time with all of the characters and snapped plenty of pics!
Besides Elmo, we also met Big Bird, The Count, Bert & Ernie, Rosita, Zoe, Grover, Cookie Monster, and Telly Monster! Andrew was excited to meet everyone and there was enough time for him to play around with the characters.
I don’t know who was more excited, him or us!
