learninghome For Andrew’s birthday, we bought him the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Learning Home ($70) based on recommendations from friends. The learning home is chock full of all sorts of activities to do and teaches letters, numbers, shapes, colors, counting, and more!

I opened up the box and proceeded to put it together. The assembly is straight forward and not too complicated. After it was all put together it was actually smaller than I expected, which is a good thing since space is a commodity in our house. With the house fully built, I unleashed my son on it and he immediately started to explore all of the neat things this house can do.

There are over a dozen activities that he can do with this house. A few of his favorites include opening and going through the door, ringing the doorbell, turning the front light on, and playing the radio. Each activity is accompanied by either music, a sound effect, or a learning phrase depending on the play mode.

I must say, he LOVES this house and it has become his new favorite toy. His little cousins visited recently and they all loved the house as well! It has a ton of things for them to do and doesn’t take up a lot of space. In fact, this house has so much to do it kept four toddlers busy at the same time! Highly recommended.

The Fisher Price web site has a cool demo that shows off what this house can do.

    Twilli enjoys hers too!

Yes, it’s yet another battery-operated toy, but my little one enjoys the sound effects, the music, and the interaction.

Why do toddler and baby toys take 3 AA batteries when they’re sold in packs of 2, 4, 8?! Do they want you to buy 12 batteries so you’ll have 4 sets? If you’re buying rechargeables, then that’s a $30 outlay.

With today’s advanced technology, why can’t toymakers make 3v toys instead of 4.5v toys?

21st Century Dad already mentioned that Twilli really loves her play house.

But I wanted to make a public thanks to our friend, Greg (& DD Sophia, of course), who handed it down to us!

At first, I thought it was just something to take up space! But she really really loves it!
